Broome

Australia’s North West is one of the world’s last true wilderness areas. Stretching over 900,000kms it covers the Pilbara and Kimberley regions of Western Australia. Home to an amazing array of flora & fauna, rich in pioneer history and Aboriginal culture, it is a truly unique destination.  A place where you can venture into red-earth country on a four-wheel drive adventure; take a scenic flight over extraordinary rock formations and magnificent waterfalls; fish to your hearts content, cruise in luxury along the pristine coastline or simply relax on white sandy beaches.

Stay in Broome this weekend!

Broome,The Pearl of the Kimberley, Sunday, 29 June 2008

Written by Mazza

Broome is an amazing place to visit with its turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, red cliffs and white pristine sandy beaches. It has a very relaxed, laid back atmosphere which makes you want to stay and enjoy for as long as possible.
Swimming at Cable Beach then wandering over to Roebuck Bays Town Beach for a relaxing rest in the park under the shade of the trees watching the kids play and splash around in the beautiful waters of Broome under the clear blue skies, one could get quite used to this.
The evenings are beautiful, sitting on the beach or at the cafe sipping on a cocktail or having a meal, watching the camels walk by on the beach, seeing the Pearl Luggers slowly cruising by with the sun setting behind them into the ocean. What a truly breathtaking sight!!!
There is plenty to do and see in Broome. Visiting Saturday morning Markets at the Courthouse, fishing trips, the Shell House, Chinatown, The Matso Brewery, plenty of pearl shops to choose from if you are a pearl lover and a tour of Willies Pearl Farm to gain an insight into how the finest pearls in the world are produced if interested. Visit Gantheaume Point with it's red craggy cliffs and see the dinosaurs footprints when the tide is low. Also at Town Beach the wrecks of the Flying Boats from WWII can be seen if you would like to walk out about a mile when the tide is very low.Be quick to get back in before the tide catches up with you.
You will really enjoy a visit to Broome and should leave very relaxed and refreshed wanting to return again.

Tropical Broome, Sunday, 29 June 2008

Broome. A place of pearls, sun, camel rides along the beach, great food and delicious wines. Learn all about the pearling industry of yesteryear and how pearls are currently grown. Buy your very own pearl or a whole string of them! Go and look at the crocodile farms and wonder at the size of those massive beasts. Lie on Cable Beach. Take a camel ride at sunset along the beach or just sit back enjoying a meal and fine wine whilst watching the sailing boats disappear with the sun. Watch the amazing staircase to the moon over the mudflats at Roebuck Bay. Go for a stroll around the Courthouse Markets where you will find all sorts of homemade crafts. Jump on a boat and do a spot of fishing or just sit back and fish off the jetty. Enjoy the fresh seafood. Aaah, Broome. Tropical, relaxing and something for everyone.
A Unique Desert Oasis, Friday, 25 July 2008

Written by philnme

We travelled more than 9500 kilometres up Australia's West Coast and drove exhausted into Broome, Western Australia. We found a truly unique desert oasis that enriched our experience and heightened our senses to a level we would never have imagined. We were delighted with colours and hues so intense that they took our breath away: the rich red ochre of the earth, duck egg blue skies, the brilliance of a sparkling turquoise ocean and pristine white sands.

We were totally intoxicated by the warmth of the sun on our backs as we strolled around the many individual shops and then waited for dusk and sipped delightful concoctions while watching the glorious luminosity of the red sunsets over the horizon. We dozed lightly while swaying in hammocks and listened to the whisper of the warm night breezes in the palm trees.

We were greeted by a truly unique mix of cultures and people that were both welcoming and delightful yet so willing to share their paradise with us. Whether relaxing on the truly spectacular and unspoiled Cable Beach, which is rated as one of the five best beaches in the world, or relaxing by the azure blue pools at the many exquisite resorts that cater for all, you can do so much or so little.

You can just completely chill out and anticipate nothing more than pure relaxation and like us, re-ignite the most tired of romances. Ours was awakened and revitalized after almost 20 years of marriage so that has to be an enticement! Maybe you will want to be electrified by the unadulterated beauty of the Kimberleys or start an adrenaline adventure that will leave you wondering why you took so long to experience this still unspoiled part of Australia.

We did not have enough time in Broome but if you want to experience an untouched and enchanted Garden of Eden, chance upon Broome, a place you will not want to leave. Truly stunning and wildly beautiful: a place guaranteed to delight and exhilarate your senses. This is truly an experience you cannot deny yourself! We are already planning our next visit, but will ensure it is one which will allow us plenty of time to experience even more of this wonderful part of our unique Australia.

Broom at Sunset, Saturday, 28 June 2008

Broom in far North West of Western Austraila. I went to Broom in August 2006 an absoultly wonderful time of the year. The weather was great around 30C most days and the water temperature was around 23C. Great for swimming, snorkling and sailing.
We stayed at the Cable Beach Resort which as 5 resturants, two pools (one pool for adults only) and every facility you could want in a holiday. The Cable Beach bar at sunset is a real find as you can watch the sun set and the camel trains on the Cable Beach while enjoying a coctail and dinner in the bar. Walks on Cable Beach are also very enjoyable. The cool sea breeze is a delight. There are many enjoyable activities to do in and around Broom. We choose an old Pearl Lugger to sail up the coast and enjoyed a champagn and finger food dinner absoultly beautiful sunset sail. We will never forget our holiday in Broom and will most probably return there in the near future.

Broome - a place to relax and explore, Sunday, 29 June 2008

Written by Marion

There are many distinctly different parts to this town, and they all add up to the complete holiday experience. You can ride a camel, swim in the bluest cleanest water, watch huge tide differences, see the most romantic sunsets over the water while having a celebration drink, explore in the footsteps of dinosaurs, drive over the reddest dirt, visit pearl farms, and buy beautiful pearls, fish and relax on the beach front, with your car right next to you parked on the sand, make friends with crocodiles, and with the locals too. A wonderful beachside holiday location with the extra bits to make it truly special.
