South from Sydney to Eden, near the Victorian border, the South Coast of NSW forms a string of pristine beaches and bays, backed by hinterland, including more than 30 national parks, marine parks and reserves. |
- Stay in Ulladulla this weekend!

Take the time to head south of Nowra and continue on past Sussex Inlet. If you can afford the time, turn off the Princes Highway south of Sussex and visit Bendalong and Cunjurong Point (about 45 mins south of Nowra and 30 mins north of Ulladulla). There you'll be able to feed the stingrays (yes, it's true) or explore the many pristine rockpools (with the sandcrabs) on the magnificent Green Island.
Head further south and take a look through the shops in historic Milton (if you can manage a weekend with the streetside market it's brilliant).
Just a few minutes south on your journey you'll find the main southern township of Ulladulla.
You really can't go past a woodfired pizza at Tony's Italian Restaurant where you can have your $9.50 lunchtime special pizza with a glass of red overlooking the ocean!
Work off the pizza with a work around the harbour with it's beautiful and historic artworks by local aboriginal artists or enjoy the wharf markets held on the first Sunday of the month.
South again to Burrill Lake and make sure you take the kids to watch Mark Galton's glass blowing demos (daily at 12, 2 and 4pm) before settling in for the night at perhaps a themed cabin at Wairo Beach Tourist Park (just 10 mins down the road).
We adore this stretch of coast - not too touristy, plenty to see and enjoy and fabulous for families.
